Mass Flow Cone
Astec silo cones are built with a steep angle, which makes Astec silos taller than competing brands. Third party and Astec research shows the precise angle at which the entire column of mix flows down evenly to be 66°. This “mass flow” movement of mix prevents segregation and build-up on silo walls. You don’t have to worry about emptying Astec silos at the end of the shift. In fact, Astec silos are designed to be full when you go home and ready to load out mix to your customers when you come back.

Silo Wall Welds
Special care is taken with silo wall welds to create a smooth inner wall. Nothing to wear off or cause build-up.
Steel Liners
Mix is abrasive and can really wear on the area where the cylinder and silo cone meet. Astec lines this area with abrasion-resistant steel liners.
Ceramic Liners
Recommended for high volume operations, optional ceramic liners give you ultimate cone protection.
