02/07/08: Leader in Asphalt Facility Production Exhibiting at ConExpo

Stationary Drum Plant

Portable Drum Plant

Relocatable Drum Plant
Astec, Inc. (Astec) based in Chattanooga, TN, USA is the world leader in Hot Mix Asphalt equipment, technology, support and training. Astec produces three styles of asphalt facility built around the industry leading Double Barrel® drum mixer: stationary, relocatable and portable.

Astec leads the way with attractive, stationary asphalt plants that offer clean, trouble-free operation. These facilities are suitable for permanent installations, especially when the highest production volumes are required. They allow flexibility for future add-ons as the needs of the contractor change, and can accommodate unconventional plant layouts.

The innovative Astec M-Pack® facility is the most advanced relocatable hot mix facility on the market today. Astec created the relocatable facility for producers who don't need to move often but want to reap the benefits of fast plant setup. The M-Pack features the same large components used with a stationary plant, including full-size control rooms and high-mix storage capacity. Since the M-Pack facility is supplied as a set of self-contained, skid-mounted modules set-up is comparably fast and site preparation costs are minimal for a facility of this size.

The Astec Six Pack® asphalt facility sets the standard for portability and productivity. When Astec introduced the Six Pack facility in the early 1980's, it was the first truly portable facility available to hot mix asphalt producers. It quickly became the world's best selling portable hot mix asphalt facility.

Visitors to the ConExpo tradeshow can see Astec's 1/8th scale models, one of a relocatable hot mix asphalt facility and one of a portable facility. Astec also plans to exhibit the new Double Barrel Green system for producing mix at lower temperatures, eliminating smoke and smell, reducing fuel consumption and increasing production. The models will be displayed in the Astec booth C-5157, during the ConExpo tradeshow held December 4-7, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
