A combination counterflow dryer and drum mixer for making HMA. Astec's unique Double Barrel® drum mixer is an example of counterflow drum mixer where its inner drum functions as a counterflow dryer and its stationary outer shell functions as a mixer. Other types of counterflow drum mixers are produced by other manufacturers.
