Astec offers processing equipment to prepare additives for incorporation in the Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP), roofing shingles, and fiber additives are crushed or shredded to the specified size by this machinery. The use of recycled products can represent a significant material cost saving to producers. The use of fibers as an HMA additive, while less common in the US, is increasing in Europe.
