Access For Maintenance
A walkway in-between the bulkhead and collecting conveyors gives you safer access to the back of the bins and conveyors for maintenance.
Bins Designed Especially For Rap
Recycle bins are designed for free flow of RAP even with fine RAP in hot weather. The very steep side walls of the RAP bins aid free flow. One end-wall is vertical and the other is angled at 75 degrees. Air cannons are standard and keep RAP from compressing within the bin.
The bin discharge opening is tapered to make it self-relieving. It is wider than that of cold feed bins and uses a wider belt feeder. Bin walls are made from 1/4 inch (.635 cm) thick steel plate with reinforced top openings.
Advantages Of Multiple Rap Bins
Multiple RAP bins increase the quantity of RAP while maintaining AC content control through RAP fractionation and use of multiple RAP bins. In-line shingle bins offer additional savings opportunities.
Tough Rap Conveyor And Feeders
Astec conveyors and belt feeders for RAP have the same high-quality features as feed systems for virgin aggregate. Belt idler rollers are extralarge and closely spaced for reliability and long service life. Large, variable speed drive motors assure precision control.
Break Rock And Hard Rap
A Telsmith horizontal shaft impactor (HSI), can be used for breaking the asphalt bond between aggregates in hard pieces of RAP.
Large plants for RAP and roofing shingle processing are available. Astec works with its sister companies KPI-JCI, Astec Mobile Screens and Peterson Pacific to custom-design these plants for each application.
Equipment For Mix Additives
Silos for mineral fillers and other dry additives can be portable or stationary and are available in a range of sizes, from 350 to 750 barrels. Slurry systems can be supplied depending on your need. Together with our sister companies Heatec, Inc. and CEI Enterprises, Inc., we also supply liquid additive systems for polymers and rubber.
