(Chattanooga, TN, USA) – Information is power and in today's market the ability to gather and use information effectively can give an asphalt producer an advantage.

Astec, Inc., an Astec Industries company, introduces the Data Acquisition System Hub or DASH. This new system provides a real-time snapshot of operations by gathering information from all plants in an operation and making it accessible via web browser, or flash compatible devices such as Android tablets and smartphones.

DASH centralizes multi-plant management and makes plant data easily and quickly available to facilitate faster management decisions and quicker resolution of production problems. In addition, the operation analysis that DASH provides encourages competition between plants, which boosts productivity and efficiency.

DASH is compatible with ASTEC control systems TCII, PMII and PMIII.

Production data collected from each plant includes mix totals, raw material usage, current production rates as well as moistures and mix temperature. Fuel consumption can be monitored for plants that have fuel meters connected to the plant control system.

DASH displays data in interactive pie charts, bar charts, trend graphs, and gauges that allow the user to drill-down for more detailed information by clicking on the charts. For example, clicking on a pie chart showing total production by mix allows the user to see the amount of each raw material used to produce the mix.

The data in each chart can be exported to an Excel spreadsheet or PDF file.

DASH also collects sales data as each sales ticket is printed at each plant. Data can be aggregated across plants to show totals shipped to a job or sold to the same customer from multiple plants. Users can view sales totals by plant, customer, job, and mix, and drill down to view individual ticket data if desired.

DASH is designed by ASTEC software engineers and will be installed, supported and serviced by ASTEC Controls engineers and ASTEC Service.
